9 Million Colors
The ocean is paradise for Fran the shrimp. Her deadly claws take whatever they desire. For the blind fish Milva, it’s a daily fight to survive. Yet Fran wishes so much that Milva could see the ocean the way she does. Will they manage to overcome their differences?
Born in 1992, in the Czech Republic, Bára Anna Stejskalová is a director, writer, and artist focused on puppet animation. She studied at the Arts University Bournemouth and FAMU in Prague. Her short films FISHERMEN (2017) and LOVE IS JUST A DEATH AWAY (2020) were both shortlisted for a BAFTA; the latter was also nominated for two Czech Lions, premiered at SXSW, and screened at over 90 international festivals. She was the art director of the VR film DARKENING (Venice Biennale, 2022) and co-created the Burning Man–honored installation Heardt. In 2021, she co-founded the Prague-based animation studio Divize.
