Presented at the 53rd Giffoni Film Festival , Disney’s new film “Haunted Mansion” will arrive in Italian theaters next August 23. For the Festival’s jurors, however, it was presented in its National Preview tonight. Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, the film talks about a woman and her son who turn to spiritual experts to try to rid their haunted house of spirits. Directed by Justin Simien (Bad Hair, Dear White People) from a screenplay by Katie Dippold (Felonious Bodies, Ghostbusters), the film stars an outstanding comedic cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield (Dinner with Murder – Knives Out), Tiffany Haddish (Bad Trip), Owen Wilson (Loki), Danny DeVito (Jumanji: The Next Level), Rosario Dawson (Zombieland – Double Shot), Chase W. Dillon (The Underground Railroad), Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek), with Academy winners Award®️ Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once) and Jared Leto (House of Gucci). On his work, Director Justin Simien said, “Our team has worked tirelessly to make a scary, fun and otherworldly cinematic adventure for both new and die-hard fans! I can’t wait for audiences to experience this big screen version of the iconic Disney attraction.”
The film “Haunted Mansion” is produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich (Aladdin). Nick Reynolds (Easter Sunday) and Tom Peitzman (The Lion King) are the executive producers. So many Giffoners attended the national premiere that took place this evening in Sala Truffaut. A room packed with enthusiastic young people and experts in the genre who, with much curiosity, waited eagerly for the screening to begin.
