ESPRIMI UN DESIDERIO
After a mishap, Simone (Max Angioni) is sentenced to community service at a retirement home. There, he becomes the target of a group of feisty seniors led by Ettore (Diego Abatantuono). The initial clash, however, turns into an opportunity for them to build something unexpected together: a sense of belonging that, in one way or another, they all lacked.
Volfango De Biasi, an Italian director, screenwriter, and actor, was born in Rome on February 22, 1972. His educational background includes a degree in Modern Literature from Sapienza University of Rome, where his thesis focused on Jungian archetypes in film noir. He then furthered his acting studies in Paris and Los Angeles, laying the groundwork for his career in the film industry.
His career began in 1996 when he directed a segment of the collaborative film ESERCIZI DI STILE. Since then, he has primarily established himself as a successful comedy director. Among his most notable works behind the camera are COME TU MI VUOI (2007), L’AGENZIA DEI BUGIARDI (2019), HELP! MY IN-LAWS ARE VAMPIRES! (2021), and the more recent A FREAKING WEDDING (2023). He also directed NONE LIKE US (2018).
De Biasi is not only an acclaimed director but also a prolific screenwriter. He has penned the screenplays for many of his own films, including that for the documentary CRAZY FOR FOOTBALL – MATTI PER IL CALCIO. This documentary, which he also directed, received significant recognition, winning a David di Donatello award.
In addition to his work on set, Volfango De Biasi has shared his knowledge and experience by teaching screenwriting at both Sapienza University of Rome and the European Institute of Design.
