Director's Bio

Alexandra Allen was born and lives in Porto. She always loved to draw, which inevitably led her to follow an artistic path. In 2015 she graduated in Visual Arts, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, where she found her passion for animation. She consequently attended the Master of Illustration and Animation at the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, which she finished in 2018.

She debuted at film festivals with the animation MIDGÄRD FÖLK, in 2014. Her projects have been screened and awarded at several national and international festivals. She won the 1st prize for student animation at the 2018 Sophia Awards, with the short film O CHAPÉU. She was a trainer in several animation workshops for children and adults, including Universidade Júnior and Cinanima. In 2020, she illustrated her first children’s book O 1 Que Não Quero Ser 1. She is currently working as a freelancer in the field of illustration and animation.
