THE PROJECT IDEA
The project idea was born in 2005 by Claudio Gubitosi, the director of Giffoni.
Multimedia Valley is a centre designed to host and build a great part of the future of the Giffoni Film Festival’s never-ending story. Giffoni Multimedia Valley is a complex of facilities entirely dedicated to the world of youth creativity.
Fifteen years ago, it was just a pen sketch on a November evening in Rome. Today, it’s reality. An area entirely dedicated to creativity and culture in Southern Italy. In a huge single setting, a series of modern and efficient structures have been created for cultural entertainment, audio-visual production, laboratories for the study of new artistic forms and expressions.

Giffoni Valle Piana is located in the Picentini area, just a few kilometers away from the cities of Salerno and Naples, and it’s at the centre of an area rich in history, culture and traditions: the Campania Region.
In addition to the beautiful landscape of the Amalfi Coast and the islands of Capri and Ischia, the region offers evidence of its ancient history with the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Paestum. Giffoni Valle Piana is located strategically in regard to Campania main tourist and cultural attractions.
