RACE
In the 1930s, Jesse Owens, an African American, rose to fame by winning four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The film explores Owens’ daily life of work, sports, and home before meeting his new coach who rigorously trains him. Despite an injury due to a bet, Owens recovers in time for the Olympics, where he encounters challenges and triumphs in events like the 100 meters and long jump, with assistance from German athlete Carl “Luz” Long. Despite his Olympic success, Owens faces racial discrimination back in the U.S.
