The Streak
Naples, early 2000s. Grazia is twenty-four, a Hematology resident living between two worlds: the hospital, where she is learning to become a doctor, and the bourgeois homes where she helps her mother Assunta, a lifelong domestic worker. Quiet and reserved, Grazia struggles to recognize herself in the role she is building.
Gian Piero Rotoli (Naples, 1979) is an Italian director, screenwriter, and actor. He grew up between Naples and New York, where he graduated from Dwight School, later earning a degree in English Literature from John Cabot University and a Master’s degree in Renaissance Italian Literature in London. During his training years, he studied acting in the United States with renowned coaches such as Susan Batson and Ivana Chubbuck, and in Italy at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and Duse International. Alongside his work as an actor in film and television, with roles in both Italian and international productions including LE INDAGINI DI LOLITA LOBOSCO, CATCH-22, EVERYBODY LOVES DIAMONDS, and THE EQUALIZER 3, he has developed a personal path as a writer and director. In 2019 he made his directorial debut with the short film BEATRICE.
Alongside his artistic work, he is also involved in audiovisual development and production, working across cinema, television, and actor training.
