Lisa Riccardi was born in 1986, the last to come out during an unexpected triplet birth. In a family full of doctors and biologists, she chose to graduate in Literature. She was later admitted to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, where she earned a diploma in Production in 2012 — the same year she won the Solinas Prize, which allowed her to produce the short Un vero portiere, released in cinemas that same year.
She worked for several production companies (Wildside, Palomar, Lotus Production, Disney) in both production and direction roles, gaining on-set experience that ranged from making the perfect coffee to coordinating extras and managing shooting schedules and crews. At times, she was entrusted with second unit directing for smaller scenes or supporting shots. Over the years, she directed several short films presented at the Giffoni Film Festival and selected by other international festivals.
In recent years, she stepped away from set work to focus exclusively on writing. In 2020, she wrote the story and screenplay for Lasciarsi un giorno a Roma by Edoardo Leo and began collaborating with various production companies on films and TV series. At the same time, she published illustrated books and children’s books with publishers such as MIMebù, Orecchio Acerbo, Edizioni Corsare, and Beccogiallo. In 2025, the first two volumes of a new children’s series will be released by Battello a Vapore.
In 2023, she wrote the story and screenplay for Paradiso in vendita by Luca Barbareschi, selected for competition at the Rome Film Fest. In 2024, she penned the story and screenplay for Due Cuori Due Capanne, directed by Massimiliano Bruno.
She is currently writing her first graphic novel for Tunué and developing three TV series with Gaumont, IIF, and Colorado for Amazon Italy and Netflix Italy.
