D. Piedade is an old mouse who lives in a small village in the mountainous interior of Portugal. Her existence is mainly composed of loneliness and memories, and a hardened routine, guided by the regular rhythm of the clock and the tea she drinks with her friends, two sisters, who live in the same village.
The accumulation of this routine will awaken in D. Piedade the desire to break it. Using a strong memory that drives her to act, she returns to where she was happy, hoping to regain some kind of new happiness.

Born in Portugal in 1980, Emanuel is an animator and director specializing in stop-motion.
He has worked as an animator, director, screenwriter and puppeteer. He has directed three independent short films that have screened at over 40 international festivals. After a master’s degree in stop-motion directing and animation (Animation School of Catalonia, Spain), he obtained a certificate in Character Animation from the NFTS (National Film and Television School, England) in collaboration with Aardman Animations.
In 2014 he started collaborating with Aardman Animations, working as an animator on projects such as WALLACE & GROMIT, CHICKEN RUN, SHAUN THE SHEEP, EARLY MAN and MORPH. He has also collaborated with Disney for the TV specials of CLUB PENGUIN.
Since 2020 he has been a mentor at the Aardman Academy. In 2018 he started collaborating with COLA Animation animating the award-winning short THE PECULIAR CRIME OF ODDBALL MR. JAY. In 2020 Bruno Caetano (director of the short and producer of COLA) invited him to direct WITH EACH PASSING DAY. Emanuel has a degree in Musicology (Nova University, Lisbon) and studied Fine Arts at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
